Luxe vs. Less: The Oversized Clutch

I love the idea of carrying an oversized clutch, one of the hottest trends in handbags right now. Granted, they're not exactly practical. On the contrary, the oversized clutch is cumbersome and frivolous at best--and that's why we love them! Of course, we are sane enough to recognize that one shouldn't spend a lot on this trend. I'm still holding out for the perfect vintage find, but in the meantime, I saw these Mossimo oversized embossed clutches at Target a little while back, and thought they're not half bad. They come in a variety of colors and measure in at a whopping 11.5 x 2.5 x 7.5 inches. Yup, that's a whole lotta clutch for not a whole lotta cash ($16.99). The Jessica Simpson label makes a similar oversized clutch called the "Pacha," which also comes in a great range of colors, and costs $68 at Endless.com.

I love the clutches you posted - very cute!
I post a hot pink leather clutch recently, not too huge, but not small enough to be confused with a wallet. Once the "trend" is over, I'll still be able to stash it in my purse!

I think it's super cute but they drive me crazy when used as an everyday substitute for a handbag. I'd like to have one nice one for going out on the town, but for my everyday running around I need a big bag with lots of space and pockets and a big thick strap that keeps it from falling off my shoulder all day.

I love clutches...but there are somewhat inconvenient for the everyday use for me...i carry alot...but for weekends or nights out..perfect!..i own a few

Hahaha BB - I was in Target last night contemplating which color to buy...these are super super cute. Can you tell me, is there a clutch rehab - I have almost as many clutches as I have totes and regular purses!
