FIRST LOOK: MCQ ALEXANDER MCQEEN FOR TARGET

Nylon has first look photos of the highly anticipated Alexander McQueen Collection for Target. Using Leila Moss, the lead singer to the Duke Spirit, as his creative inspiration, McQueen turned out skinny jeans, leggings, graphic tees, a jumpsuit, and some simple dresses in a desaturated black, white and gray color palette punctuated by pops of cobalt blue and hot pink.

"I wanted my Target collection to feature key aspects of the McQ Alexander McQueen aesthetic, classic craftsmanship with a rebellious, nostalgic flare,” McQueen told NYLON. "The collection is comprised of effortless, chic menswear inspired tailored pieces that women will feel confident wearing."

Looking past the androgynous styling of these models, I can see myself rocking many of these looks, especially the dresses (LOVE the one-shoulder number in the top row). I've also got my eye on that gray jacket worn with a blue abstract print dress, and the jumpsuit (oh yes, it will be mine.)

What do you think of this collection so far? (Lots more pics below)

Very cool ... though more so on someone else than me, lol! That black jacket and that one-shoulder dress rock, though. I hope it's as good in real life as in the photo.

Despite just telling myself this afternoon that I need to cut back on spending, I will be buying that one shoulder dress as soon as the line hits stores (March-April?). Also appealing: the strapless print dress and the last black tunic/dress with white accent. Not sure about the pleated cropped pants or the jumpsuit.. but then again, I really hate jumpsuits. The bikini and blue tunic are cute, but not made for my body shape. Overall, very much looking forward to it!

(PS. BB--what do you think the chances are of this line actually making it to the North Haven Target? I think I may have to hike elsewhere.)

Love the collection, great to have such ispirational designs at affordable prices.
Will this collection be available in Target in Australia?

I'm guessing it will not be available in Australia (when Zac Posen created a line for Target Australia, it wasn't available in the US...) but I'd bookmark this site and keep checking back for updates:

a little too masculine for my taste
that boyish silhouette should have been out of style by now

we need more cinching at the waist

Love that one shoulder dress in the first row! Can't wait to see it in person!

I think the only thing I'm going to get is the black dress and the jumpsuit, thats it. I got to cut back on spending.

I totally agree with " Neira" I thought this was suppose to be an "adult" collection since it is NOT part of the Go International line. Yet, this stuff looks like young rocker-type stuff - yuck!

Not to sound like a broken record, because everyone seems to adore it, but I also love the one-shoulder dress! And the shrunken blazer.

Many of the other pieces need a girl with a coltish figure and would just look lumpy on a curvy girl like me.

OMG OMG OMG!
Must save money now. haha

I can't wait!!! I love it all!

As usual, I'm reserving judgment until I can handle the pieces in person, but some of them look really fun and flattering!

I love the gray deconstructed jacket and the one shoulder drape dress. I hope this is available online.

When I saw the girl with the short hair for 3 seconds, I thought she was a "he"---she looks like a man....and then I saw "him" on a mini dress with nice legs, then I realize she's a girl. Hehehe!

Just blogged about the Spring '09 Haute Couture...but this is much more my speed. Love the asymetric dress and the textile pattern. The booties are pretty cute too. Looking forward to taking a closer look!

Have a great weekend!

Hmm I wonder what these pieces will look like in person? Unless the materials are good, it looks like these pieces will just look bland and shapeless instead of couture for less.
